VPN woes
I have a windows 2k network using ISA Server. Our remote users have cable modems and connect over a vpn to the ISA Server. This works great except that anytime the vpn connection is active I cannot use IE. Anytime I try to go to a web page IE times out and I get the generic "can't find web page" error.

All kinds of remote users (NT, 98, etc.) can connect to VPN no problem. NO ONE can browse via network neighborhood. Also login scripts dont run and they HAVE In TCP/IP properties just make sure that "Use default gateway of remote network" is checked for the RAS connection and unchecked for the VPN connection.

The Subnet Mask (and other settings) is being set by the remote end. My local TCP/IP Properties are set as "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically". Click the advanced button and get rid of the Use Default gateway on remote network check mark. That should be all you need. I think this can be done in Win9x but I can't remember where. I'm guessing that you just have the Microsoft PPTP VPN client setup instead of something else like Nortel Contivity client.
